South-East Cornwall Liberal Democrats scored a convincing election victory over the Conservatives in the St. Cleer and St. Neot ward last Thursday. Lib Dem candidate Bob Emuss was elected to Caradon District Council with a majority of 156 over his Conservative rival.

The win means that the Liberal Democrats have won seven out of the last eight by-elections in Cornwall including St. Cleer and St. Neot, Torpoint, Saltash, two in Bodmin, Truro and Camborne.

Liberal Democrat Campaigns Officer for Cornwall, Jeff Muir said, " This string of election victories show that the public have seen through David Cameron and are staying with the Liberal Democrats as the best Party that can deliver for Cornwall."

The by-election was caused by the sad death of Bob's wife Maureen.
